Leek Building Society needed a new vision and concept for their branches which focused on shifting the experience from transaction to interaction. Banking has changed, with evolving customer needs and the exponential growth of digital platforms, Leek wanted to attract a younger audience and increase footfall along with their member numbers.

Concept Design

The space replaces traditional teller counters with open, flexible zones that foster interaction. Key features include:

  • Human-Centred Design: Personalised service areas with lounges and private consultation spaces for meaningful customer relationships.
  • Digital Integration: Interactive kiosks and touchscreens for seamless banking and financial exploration.
  • Flexible Spaces: Adaptable layouts for meetings, financial planning, and community events.
  • Natural Elements: Biophilic design with natural light, greenery, and calming materials.
  • Self-Service & Assistance: A balance of self-service tech and expert support.
  • Community Focus: Dedicated areas for events, workshops, and local engagement.
